Scott Mauldin

Scott Mauldin is an (Emmy Award ) winning journalist, an (Associated Press ) award winner and was named a Top 40 business leader by the (Birmingham Business Journal ). He is the Executive Producer, Director and owner of the video production company (Vulcan Media ) based in (Birmingham, AL ), and (Vulcan Media Charlotte ), based in (Charlotte, NC ).
Scott has been a TV personality since age 13, when he was featured on several Birmingham, AL, cable television shows. After graduating from (Mountain Brook High School ) l, he then attended the (University of Montevallo ), where he majored in broadcast journalism. In college, he worked as a news anchor for the school's cable news broadcast, he founded the school's radio program, he was editor of the school's newspaper, he was elected president of five student organizations and he was honored with the award of Senior Elite for the school of broadcasting.
After college, Mauldin was hired by the TV station WMBB, the ABC News affiliate in Panama City, FL as a news reporter and weekend news anchor. In 1998, he was put under contract with (NBC News ) based at WVTM, in Birmingham, AL. While working for NBC, Mauldin covered national news reports including the capture of Olympic Park bomber Eric Robert Rudolph, airline security following the November 11, 2001 terror attacks and the George W. Bush presidential campaign.
Mauldin remained with WVTM after the TV station was sold by NBC to Media General, an owner of TV station groups mainly in the Southeast, United States.
His television contract ended in March 2009. He had previously formed the video production company which he now leads.
Mauldin lives in his home town of Mountain Brook, AL, an incorporated community adjacent to Birmingham, AL.
